Raymarine Evolution EV-150 Hydraulic Autopilot System Pack for less than 14 cu in Cylinder T70330
Key features:
The p70s and p70Rs feature vibrant colour displays and are powered by Raymarine’s intuitive LightHouse user interface. LightHouse organises all options into simple menu structures, so with Evolution’s Automagic 3-step setup process you will be up and running in minutes.
NEW p70s and p70Rs Autopilot Control Heads
The ACU-150 connects to the SeaTalkng network for communication with its other peripherals. It also has connections for an optional Rudder Reference Unit (sold separately.) The ACU-150 works on 12-volt DC systems only.
The Raymarine ACU-150 is a component of the Evolution™ Autopilot system and is designed to provide power and control to a Raymarine Type-1 Hydraulic Drive Unit (M81120.)
ACU-150
- Precision monitoring of heading, pitch, roll, and yaw allowing the autopilot to evolve instantly as sea conditions and vessel dynamics change.
- Flexible installation options. Mount above or below deck.
- Simple SeaTalkng connectivity to the control head and ACU.
- Solid state sensor technology delivers dynamic accuracy to within 2 degrees in all conditions.
- Auto-compensation for on board magnetic fields and reliable heading accuracy in the northern and southern extremes.
- Fast and reliable heading data for MARPA, radar overlay, and heading modes on Raymarine multifunction displays.
EV Sensor Core Benefits
Mount the EV sensor core above or below decks, the rugged enclosure is fully sealed and built to IPX6 and IPX7 waterproofing and submersion standards.
At the centre of every Evolution system is the intelligent EV sensor core, a 9-axis sensor that monitors vessel motion in all three dimensions. The innovative EV sensor core combines advanced solid-state sensors with the Evolution autopilot processor into a single easy-to-install housing.
The EV Sensor Core
- Automagic™ - No lengthy calibration procedures to perform. No compass calibration required. Plug and play connections
- Easy to install - Freedom from the restrictions of conventional heading sensors. EV sensor core can be installed above or below deck. Install upside-down or off the vessel's centre line.
- Aerospace technology - 9-axis precision monitoring of pitch, roll, yaw and heading
- Fuel efficient - Evolution autopilots steer so accurately they will save fuel and get you to your destination faster
Key Features
No fuss, easy to install and robust - the Evolution autopilot combines Raymarine's autopilot expertise, FLIR Systems' R&D, and advanced aerospace guidance technology to create Evolution Ai control algorithms that deliver a new level of accurate autopilot control.

What does Hydro-Balance™ do?
Hydro-Balance’s powerful algorithms can automatically detect and compensate for 3 common challenges
Solution: Evolution’s new Hydro-Balance algorithm can quickly and accurately gauge the amount of elasticity when the system is engaged, and then compensate for it automatically. This ensures that boats without a rudder-reference track straight without any heading oscillation or drive hunting. It also improves the accuracy of the virtual rudder angle display on the boats autopilot controllers and rudder data displays.
Solution: Evolution’s new Hydro-Balance algorithm figures out the difference in fill-rate between a port-turn and a starboard-turn, and compensates accordingly. This makes for straight tracking without any over-correction or oscillation.
Solution: Evolution’s Hydro-Balance algorithm, in combination with its ultra-sensitive EV Sensor Core can sense the side-force caused by propeller walk and factor it in to the boat’s autopilot steering to ensure the heading is rock-solid during trolling, acceleration, and on occasions where the boat’s engines are not turning at the same speed (on twin or multi-engine vessels.)
Hydro-Balance is available for FREE, to all Evolution owners
It’s easy to add Hydro-Balance™ Technology to any existing Evolution™ autopilot system via a simple software upgrade.
Hydro-Balance™ Technology is an all new, patent-pending software update that delivers superior autopilot performance on boats with hydraulic steering, and particularly on boats with rudder reference-less steering and outboard motors.

The Raymarine EV-150 Hydraulic Autopilot System Pack is the
ideal autopilot for small to medium sized hydraulically steered vessels with a
steering ram capacity between 4.9 cu. in. (80cc) and 14.0 cu in. (230cc). The
system is for 12-volt DC electrical systems only.
The system is also equipped with Raymarine
latest Evolution TrackIQ™ algorithms which deliver tighter track-keeping and
faster track acquisition. It also uses information on vessel pitch, roll, yaw
and heave to stabilize GPS navigation data like course over ground, speed over
ground and cross track error for the best possible tracking to waypoints and
routes.
Anglers will also love the Evolution Autopilot's built-in trolling
patterns. Let the autopilot work the boat while you prep bait, set your lines
and adjust your spread.
The Evolution EV-150 system also employs Raymarine's patented
Hydro-Balance™ technology which delivers superior autopilot performance for
hydraulically steered boats, particularly those with outboard motors and
rudder-reference less systems. Hydro-Balance automatically compensates for
hydraulic system elasticity, steering system asymmetry, and torque steer to keep
your boat on-course at trolling speed, cruising speed, and all-out running.
Engineered for simplicity,
Raymarine's award-winning Evolution autopilots eliminate the need for
complicated set up and calibration. Thanks to the intelligent 9-axis EV sensor
core, the autopilot automatically evolves and adapts to your vessel's steering
characteristics without any user adjustments. The result is precise and
confident course keeping, regardless of vessel speed or sea
conditions.
The Evolution
EV-150 Hydraulic Autopilot System Pack is a complete autopilot-in-a-box kit that

Raymarine Hydraulic Steering Systems
Raymarine Evolution pilots connect to hydraulic steering systems using a rugged hydraulic pump matched to the capacity of the hydraulic steering system. If your system is hydraulic... You'll need to find out the size (in cc) of the hydraulic cylinder ram(s) mounted to the rudder or inboard engined boats, or to the drive unit on outboard engined boats. Your steering system documentation will have this information. |
Autopilot Tip If you cannot find the ram size on your steering system documentation, you can look on the cylinder ram itself for the brand and model number. Once you have the number use our hydraulic cylinder ram cross-reference guide to determine which hydraulic autopilot pump is compatible with your vessel's hydraulic steering system. |
